The Snare of the Fowler!
When the Bait Looks Like a Blessing, but the Assignment Is Bondage!
Psalm 91:3 (KJV)
"Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence."
🔥 LET ME TEACH YOU SOMETHING ABOUT THE SNARE OF THE FOWLER!
Everything that attracts your attention is not assigned to your destiny! And everything that presents itself as an opportunity is not necessarily an open door from God!
There are some things that look good, sound good, and even appear to be answers to prayers, but underneath the presentation is a trap designed to interrupt your purpose, compromise your assignment, and ultimately bring you into captivity.
This is what Scripture calls THE SNARE OF THE FOWLER!
UNDERSTAND THE STRATEGY OF THE FOWLER
A fowler is a hunter who specializes in capturing birds. But here is what makes this hunter dangerous: he does not always chase what he intends to capture.
He studies it!
He watches its movements, understands its appetite, identifies its patterns, and then strategically places bait where the bird is most likely to land.
The bird sees the food, but it does not see the net.
It recognizes the opportunity, but it does not recognize the danger.
It responds to what satisfies its appetite without discerning what threatens its freedom.
And that is where the snare becomes effective!
The fowler understands something that many believers must learn:
If I can get you to focus on the bait, you may never recognize the bondage attached to it!
My God!
EVERY SNARE DOES NOT LOOK LIKE A TRAP!
Some snares come dressed as relationships.
Some come disguised as opportunities.
Some arrive through flattering words, false promises, and counterfeit connections.
Some even come wrapped in spiritual language, appearing to be divine instructions when they are actually distractions from your God-given assignment.
The enemy does not always attempt to destroy you through obvious opposition. Sometimes the strategy is subtle compromise.
A little distraction here.
A little disobedience there.
A relationship you were never instructed to entertain.
A door you were never authorized to walk through.
A conversation you should have discerned before participating in it.
And before you realize what has happened, what initially appeared harmless has begun restricting your movement.
THE PURPOSE OF THE SNARE IS NOT SIMPLY TO ATTRACT YOU. IT IS TO CAPTURE YOU!
THE DANGER OF UNDISCERNED APPETITES
Let me go a little deeper!
The fowler uses bait because bait appeals to something the bird already desires.
This is why we must be careful about allowing our appetites, emotions, ambitions, frustrations, and unmet expectations to become louder than the voice of God.
Not every desire is sinful, but an undisciplined desire can become an entry point for deception.
James 1:14 (KJV) declares:
"But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed."
Notice the progression!
First, there is an attraction.
Then, there is an enticement.
Then, there is a drawing away.
The enemy understands that if he can draw you away from spiritual alignment, he can position you in an environment where your discernment becomes compromised.
BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU ARE WILLING TO EXCHANGE FOR WHAT YOU WANT!
Do not exchange your peace for acceptance.
Do not exchange your integrity for advancement.
Do not exchange your spiritual authority for temporary gratification.
And certainly do not abandon your God-given assignment because something attractive appeared along your journey!
THE FOWLER NEEDS YOU TO MISS WHAT IS HIDDEN
One of the most dangerous characteristics of a snare is its concealment.
The trap is intentionally hidden because the hunter understands that if the bird recognizes the danger, it may never approach the bait.
This is why spiritual discernment is essential!
You cannot evaluate everything by appearance.
You cannot determine every connection by chemistry.
You cannot measure every opportunity by financial gain.
And you cannot assume every open door has been opened by God!
DISCERNMENT MUST GO BEYOND WHAT IS PRESENTED AND EXAMINE WHAT IS PRODUCING IT!
First John 4:1 tells us to try the spirits whether they are of God.
Believers, we must return to a place where we seek the counsel of God before we commit our hearts, our resources, our voices, and our assignments.
Prayer is not just what we do after trouble arrives.
Prayer is part of how we remain spiritually alert before trouble develops!
BUT HERE IS THE POWERFUL PART: GOD IS A DELIVERER!
Psalm 91:3 does not say that snares will never be formed.
It declares:
"Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler..."
That means the God who sees what you cannot see is able to deliver you from what was strategically designed to capture you!
There are traps you never recognized because God redirected your steps.
There are relationships that ended because God was protecting your future.
There are opportunities that did not materialize because what appeared to be advancement could have become an assignment of bondage.
And there are some situations God brought you out of that you now recognize were never designed to develop you, but to detain you!
EVERY CLOSED DOOR IS NOT REJECTION. SOMETIMES IT IS DIVINE PROTECTION!
But hear me carefully: spiritual maturity also requires personal responsibility.
We cannot continuously ignore wisdom, dismiss warnings, violate boundaries, and then blame every consequence on the enemy.
Sometimes deliverance requires obedience.
Sometimes protection requires separation.
And sometimes your next level of freedom requires you to stop entertaining the very thing God has already instructed you to leave alone!
MY APOSTOLIC CHARGE TO YOU
In this season, do not just pray for open doors. Pray for the discernment to recognize which doors carry divine authorization.
Do not just pray for connections. Pray for the wisdom to recognize the purpose behind those connections.
Do not just pray for increase. Pray that your character, obedience, and spiritual capacity can sustain what God places in your hands.
And above all, never become so fascinated with the bait that you forget to examine the environment surrounding it!
THE FOWLER MAY HAVE A STRATEGY, BUT GOD HAS ALREADY PROVIDED A WAY OF DELIVERANCE!
🔥 MY DECLARATION
I declare that my spiritual eyes are open and my discernment is sharpened!
I will not be seduced by appearances, manipulated by flattering words, or distracted by counterfeit opportunities!
Every hidden snare designed to interrupt my divine assignment shall be exposed according to the wisdom and timing of God!
I will not sacrifice my destiny to satisfy a temporary appetite!
I will walk in wisdom, remain anchored in truth, and obey the instructions of the Lord!
I AM NOT THE FOWLER'S CAPTIVE! I BELONG TO THE LORD!
And according to Psalm 124:7 (KJV):
"Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are escaped."
🔥 THE SNARE IS BROKEN, AND WE ARE ESCAPED!
Remember this: The bait may be attractive, but your freedom is too valuable to surrender!
